Inspector / Trainer

Job Summary: An Inspector/Trainer at RCI plays a highly visible role as they interact with clients on a constant basis. The position requires a professional presence, excellent verbal and written communications skills, and knowledge of all aspects of RCI operations. A person in this position is responsible for annual inspections and training sessions for new installations as well as existing clients. Timely recording and reporting is a must. Must be comfortable presenting to large groups and introducing new RCI technologies and products to clients. Extensive travel is required for this position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct training for inspectors, operators, and operator trainers at both Ropes Courses, Inc. and client locations worldwide as needed
  • Conduct client safety inspections per RCI training and inspection guidelines utilizing all RCI resources
  • Communicate inspection or training results to Services Manager
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients and RCI internal departments
  • Provide immediate feedback to clients and the Services Manager regarding compliance issues
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of all Ropes Courses, Inc. products including requirements for the integrity of the structure, elements, and safety equipment and all applicable RCI policies and procedures
  • Provide feedback regarding newly implemented policies and/or procedures
  • Work to improve standard operating procedures for inspection and training implementation as required
  • Maintain detailed records associated with inspections and training ensuring that all data is entered in an accurate and timely manner
  • Communicate effectively and enthusiastically with a diverse range of personality types during training sessions
  • Work independently and be a self-motivator
  • Meet goals and work within specific time frames
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Experience/Personal Specifications:

  • Teaching and/or training experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Approximately 90% travel is required (domestic and international)
  • Managerial experience a plus
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable working at heights exceeding 30 feet
  • Ability to climb any portion of a product structure to access inspection locations
  • Ability to utilize any required personal protective equipment
  • Ability to lift more than 50 lbs
  • Computer skills including word processing proficiency and familiarity with the Google suite
  • Highly organized with exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Effective time management in fast-paced, multi-tasking environments
  • Ability to perform all tasks with confidence, precision and strong attention to detail
  • Maintain a clean driving record
  • Currently possess or can obtain a passport
  • Experience and/or certificates in one or more of the following areas is not a requirement but a plus:

R & D Engineer

Job Title: Research & Development Engineer

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Research & Development Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing activities related to R & D design, product testing, incorporating technology into existing or new products, progress reporting and monitoring costs. This position also requires periodic travel to existing courses for updates/repairs or new courses for installations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing new products and processes as directed by the R& D Supervisor
  • Work closely with the R&D Supervisor through development process starting with concept, preparing prototypes, testing procedures and final approval
  • Improve existing products and keep products up to date with new trends, technology and safety
  • Travel is required to existing and new course sites
  • Submit periodic reports to R & D Supervisor showing status of all R&D projects
  • Evaluate necessary components, in accordance with design specifications, and facilitate with R & D Supervisor and Purchasing Department
  • Able to follow budgetary and time constraints as they are presented by R&D Supervisor in each project
  • Follow all safety standards and procedures
  • Ability to take direction from Immediate Supervisor
  • Work independently and be a self motivator
  • Able to work within timelines
  • Maintain a clean workplace
  • Contribute to the quality control of the project

Knowledge/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field preferably Mechanical, Electrical or Design
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in an R&D or Mechanical Engineering related field preferred. Structural experience a plus
  • Experience in Industrial Design and Engineering software such as Autodesk, AutoCAD, Inventor, SketchUp or Photoshop preferred.
  • Experience in Industrial Automation
  • Communication and time management skills
  • Strong Troubleshooting skills
  • Outstanding data collection, analysis and documentation skills
  • Advanced computer skills with proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications

Fabricator/Welder – Production

Job Summary: Production welding requiring 1-2 years of experience or equivalent in a manufacturing setting. With readily available supervision and technical guidance, positions material to be welded, using jigging fixtures in most cases, and applies hand-eye coordination to achieve the desired weld. Materials welded will be steel using methods of gas shielded welding. Welding positions are routine and work may be characterized as longer production runs. Works from specifications, drawings, prints, and welding symbols.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain production through put of assigned parts
  • Use blueprints to produce and meet all specifications
  • Use material handling equipment safely to move parts
  • Follow all safety standards and procedures
  • Good attendance record
  • Ability to take direction from Immediate Supervisor

  • Maintain a clean workplace
  • Communicate with various departments for direction of project
  • Contribute to the quality control of the project

Knowledge/Experience Required:

  • Must be able to read blueprints
  • Familiarity with standard structural steel fabrication practices for welding, cutting, drilling and punching steel.
  • Fitter experience a plus
  • Familiar with gas shielded FCAW process.
  • Familiar with forklift operation and pass certification
  • Ability to pass weld test in AWS D1.1 Flat prior to hiring

Field Installer

Job Summary: This position is responsible for the installation of structural steel adventure products. Requires general construction and mechanical knowledge, flexible schedule and the ability to travel both domestic and internationally without restrictions. This individual performs various duties as assigned and must conduct themselves as a professional representative of Ropes Courses Incorporated. This role requires extensive travel (75%) so applicant must possess or be able to obtain a passport, have a clean driving record (ability to be insured on company fleet policy) and be willing to submit to a background and drug screen.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in safe material handling and installation processes from initial unloading to final inspection of project.
  • Ability to take direction from Immediate Supervisor
  • Follow all safety standards and procedures
  • Work independently and be a self motivator
  • Good attendance record
  • Complete all paperwork (including expense reports and timesheets) accurately and in a timely manner
  • Professional representation of company while on job site
  • Able to work within timelines
  • All other duties as assigned on a daily basis

Knowledge/Experience Required:

  • General construction knowledge with structural steel experience a plus
  • Experience operating heavy equipment including all-terrain forklifts, manlifts and scissor/booms
  • Experience or ability to work at heights
  • Highly organized and a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work within travel timelines and itineraries
  • Valid drivers license with clean driving record
